Is there a big difference between unitronic Tcu stage 1 and Tcu stage 2 ?

I’ve never run stage 1 tcu, just their stage 2 and it shifts hard. Sometimes my foot will jerk the throttle pedal from a hard shift. I also have TVS stage 2 and it doesn’t shift as hard and doesn’t hold the rpm as long/high in sport driving around under 1/2 throttle.
